Fleet types
Bus, transit & government
Public fleets cannot trade service reliability for efficiency, and their numbers are published. Both constraints favour a passive layer with independently measured results.

Constraints
What public operators have to satisfy
Schedule
Timetabled service leaves no room for vehicles withdrawn for retrofit
Reporting
Emissions and fuel figures are disclosed and scrutinised
Procurement
Evidence must withstand independent technical review
Safety
No modification that alters certified vehicle configuration
Evidence standard
Independent and inspection-grade testing
Four controlled Mazda 6GT trials were conducted by an independent government tester, recording fuel reductions between 9% and 36.2% across varied conditions.
Emissions results have been recorded to UK inspection-grade standards — 0.005% CO and 6 ppm hydrocarbons on an Isuzu D-Max — with a 64.5% CO reduction measured on a Caterpillar 3412.
Why it suits public fleets
No certification change
Vehicle configuration and approvals remain as delivered.
No service withdrawal
Applied within existing depot dwell, not by removing buses.
Defensible numbers
Results are measured against the operator's own baseline data.
